WA9FM - Gary
Just a quick note about an IC-737A purchase I made a few weeks ago. The reason I am writing is, if I had seen this note before I purchased the radio I would have declined it. The radio came from Gary WA9FM. I paid the price for a nice working radio. When it showed up it was well packed and looked real nice. Only thing is it was way off frequency, The receiver sounded real bad in USB, so much so that I had to run the PBT knob at about 3pm to have it sound even close. It would also jump frequency by itself. From 7255 to 7255.58 and then back again. Anyway I sent it to Paul (ICOM) and it is going to cost 170.00 to make it OK. I sent a note to Gary WA9FM to let him know it wasn’t very good and what Paul said, more as an FYI and his final response was, “You’re not the first person who has bought something and had it fail for some reason” . This is what this forum is for and just wanted to save someone else a problem in the future.
