I believe he/she was reported in another QTH forum but here we go. I advertised a for sale an item, price $85. Received a "cashier check" for $1040 from the buyer. See the attachments - this looked like the real deal. Short story: I emailed scanned copies of the check to First Community for validation. Reply from Member Services was our institution did not issue this check ergo fraud. Strange, though, the lady whom replied advised me to report the incident to my local law enforcement. I my world, she should have had her legal department do the reporting, etc. The check was drawn their financial institution. Oh, well, if any of you are asking, did I deposit the the check, Nein, nyet, no. BTW, the check was mailed from Florida One Insurance, Miami Lakes Florida which is a real deal company. End of story.
