N2EWM listing #1753852

Post by w4eky »

Gary Chamberlain N2EWM, this negative feedback is in regards to his current ad for the Emtron DX-3SP. Over the course of a few days, we have worked out the deal on the amplifier and scheduled for a demo and pickup at his qth. Original price was $3500, he offered me a discounted price of $3200 of if I came to his qth instead of meeting. With less than 24 hours notice, he sent me a text at 7am stating “ Chase ive decided to keep the amp until I can come up with the extra 2k for the kpa. I can't swing it right away..sorry‘. Mind you it’s a 10.5 hour drive for me. After a short conversation he then follows up with “ Im actually going to change the ad to $4k it was stupid of me to list it so cheap, I paid 5k for my 77sx and they are still selling for that much everyday and they are basically the same hp in watts.” Both statements copied and pasted directly from the text messages which are available for anyone whom would like to see them. This was after I had spent the entire day making arrangements for babysitter, banking, reserved lodging for the overnight trip of 21 hours of driving.

Buyer beware, he is definitely not a man of his word. Not only did he lie to me but he just decided he wanted more money for the amplifier. Which is his choice but this is not how we should conduct business, but yet it seems to be the standard of this newer generation of hams. Luckily I was able to cancel the hotel room after a little convincing. If anyone would like to see the entire conversation, my contact information is good on qrz. Thank you and 73’s W4EKY
