Just received an email from a Frank Zweber ([email protected]) about a Vertex HT that I have for sale. Typical broken English (my cat could probably do better). No call sign. Usual format. Not sure if he saw my ad on QRZ or QTH. FYI

I received a message from him too regarding my Kenwood TS2000X for sale on QTH. His email came direct to me, not thru QTH (the only site I have the radio posted on). It was suspicious to me because the answers to the questions he asked about the radio were clearly spelled out in the post.

He sent me a email too regarding an amplifier I have listed for local pickup. Also sent direct to my email address. Scammer for sure.

Got an email direct to me (assume got info from QRZ?) from Frank Zweber [email protected] responding to my ad. I asked for phone number to confirm and get mailing address. Replied without either but said he'd buy my items. Promised cashiers check was in the mail. Received check with amount 10 times actual price, checked with issuing bank who said it was a fraudulent check. No replies to emails since. Oh well. Must remember to check scammer reports first next time.
