KA5IDD Terry Lamb - a Thief!

Post by kg4lmu »

Several people have been scammed by this guy! I sent him a yaesu Ft-2400 and received nothing but bad e-mails. This guy actually offered to trade me a radio I later found out he stole from another ham. Beware! I actually had to contact the cherokee county sheriffs department and file a report and havent received anything of late. Buyer beware of P.O. box address or Oaks,Oklahoma area addresses. Terry Lamb real winner!

KA5IDD - Terry Lamb...still a theif

Post by ke5tim »

Looks like Terry Lamb KA5IDD has struck again. I sent him a laptop computer in trade for a Kenwood TM-707 dual-band. He is listed on QRZ with an Oklahoma address, but had me ship to a Lowell, Arkansas address he claims to live at now. I have sent him a message that I will be contacting the Benton County sheriff in Arkansas as well as the Deleware and Cherokee county sheriff in Oklahoma.

If there are any hams in these areas that I can contact I would really appreciate the help.

I will keep you all updated.

He has been blocked from using my site for some time now. So, your response from him must not have contained a callsign, which should maybe have been a red flag. Then shipping to an address that doesn't match the FCC database should have been the biggest red flag of all. See the SAFE TRADING TIPS link which is at the top and bottom of nearly every Classfied Ad page on QTH.com.... this is one of the main tips in trading safely... stay with hams and make sure money/equipment is going to the FCC database address.

Sorry to hear of the problem... hopefully your future trades, with our safe trading tips in mind, will go much more smoothly.

what a loser

After sending Terry Lamb the email letting him know I was contacting the authorities I received an email from him saying he had "refused" acceptance due to shipping damage. I always double box when I ship so I have to wonder if he was just waiting to see what I would do.

The USPS tracking number does say the shipment was refused so I will have to inspect everything when it returns.

While this may turn out okay on the surface I would strongly advise anyone against dealing with Terry Lamb KA5IDD for ANYTHING!

I will update when I have received the package back.

weird...

I returned home last night from working out of town last week to find my package that I sent to Terry Lamb back in my foyer. After inspecting it looked very much the way I sent it with the exception being the post office's "refused delivery" stamp on it.

He had claimed in an email to me that the postmaster told him the package was damaged and he should refuse delivery...of course I heard this AFTER letting him know that I would be contacting the local authorities.

I opened the package and it was just how I had shipped it so it appears that I am indeed a VERY LUCKY camper!

This story does not have the long drawn out, bad ending that it could so I feel very fortunate!

My recommendation will stand that I will not deal with Terry Lamb - KA5IDD EVER again, and would strongly suggest others to avoid him as well.

I just got scammed, but It may not be Terry Lamb

I listed an FT-8000 and someone posed as Terry Lamb ka5idd. There is a P.O. box registered to this call, so I didn't think much when I sent it to the address he/she gave me. Shame on me for not checking into it, however, it might be someone posing as this person. He/she offered a trade, and never sent the radio. To add insult to injury, they claimed it was dead, and further tried to steal more money from me. The real person is Willard, P. to whom the address lookup came to, so He/she's at it again.

Sorry to hear about the problem Interestingly...

According to QRZ.com:

KA5IDD Lookups: 1182
TERRY L LAMB
PO BOX 202
OAKS OK 74359
USA

But the person you shipped to has different info:

Willard, P
12881 Frisco Cemetery Rd.
Lowell, AR 72745-9114
(479) 927-9946
