N5WEC Glendel Floyd responded to a want ad I placed looking for a WORKING HW-22 station. He called me on the phone, and said I could get the transceiver, power supply, digital readout and microphone shipped for $300 and he would cover any excess shipping charges. I told him at Christmas time the UPS rates are high, in three separate emails I suggested pirate shipping. So he calls me from the UPS store crying that it was $109 to ship.
I sent him a label through pirate shipping for $44 dollars to expedite things, assuming a good ham would send me the $44 because he offered to pay all shipping costs even if it was high.
Long story short, only the power supply worked, he ignored my emails, about everything that was wrong with this deal. And I'm sure he thought I was a sucker. After a few nice emails I resorted to legal threats, he saw the light and finally sent me the $44, nothing about the bad equipment, or the lies about the condition. So now I have another project, and a bad guy report for Glendel who doesn't know about Karma yet.
