Just what it says -- this is the place for any discussions not related to Buying, Selling and Trading ham gear. The discussion must be related to Ham Radio.

Post by N2GOZ »

Greetings to all. Considering a purchase of the Yaesu FT710. Would like your thoughts of this HF/6 meter radio both pros and cons. Thanks. Dave- N2GOZ

Posted in Aug? By now you probably already own an FT-710.
I had one for one year and then upgraded to the FTDX-10. Pros? Too many to mention. Cons? That's easy....none.
I am sorry that I sold it. I sold it to my friend and he loves it.

The only little issue the 710 has it the control for the speech processor. You are suppose to adjust it for 10 db of compression.
You can not get the display to show the db's of compression. Maybe they fixed that by now? Other than that, I found it to be a
perfect radio in that price range. It's much better than the Icom IC 7300 that overloads on strong in band signals.

I wrote a product review on the 710. Maybe it will interest you? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XI8QVF ... XvudW/view

If you have one already, I hope you are happy with it. I may get another one later this year to be use for POTA activations.
