Ed Zayco AB6DD A habitual scammer

Post by N4JRR »

I was scammed by someone claiming to be Ed Zayco, AB6DD. (Probably a hijacked identity) I placed an ad in QTH.com seeking a Mosley CM-1 receiver. Robert Schools K4SSS advised me that Ed Zayco had one and gave me Ed’s contact info. Ed replied that he did have one and sent me pictures of a beautiful looking radio for $330 shipped so I accepted. I sent payment thru Zelle as he requested. He claimed payment not received due to bank problem and was being returned. (My first Zelle transaction, not familiar with how Zelle worked) He offered to send me the radio if I would send one half payment again and after I received the Zelle return I could pay the balance. I foolishly accepted and sent another Zelle payment, and again he claimed that he did not receive it. He then said he was shipping me the radio and after I received a tracking number and verified that the package had been shipped, he wanted me to send $200 to another person’s paypal. I knew I had been scammed but I told him to send it since I had not paid the $200 yet. I received a FedEx shipping notification and he started demanding the $200. He was insistent that I pay before receiving the package because the tracking number proved he had made the shipment. FedEx sent delivery notification with photo but it was not at my house. Drove round until I found the package in a nearby subdivision. Package had different name and address and had nothing to do with my radio. He had found someone to add my email to another person’s shipping notification on their package. That is why he insisted on payment before the package arrived. I also found out that the pictures he had sent me of the radio were copied from another website. He never owned the radio. He has numerous hits on other scam reporting websites with his cellphone number (341) 529-0234. He used the Zelle account of Carolyn Dominguez (602) 317-5903, a.k.a Carolyn Malak, who he claims is his wife. He used the phone number 940-859-0058, which he claims is a cellular number, but it is actually VoIP, making it untraceable.
