W2ATF ! CAUTION!

Post by WA4PYS »

I purchased an Ameritron ALS-500M from W2ATF that was described as "Mint" and 100% operational. What I received was a unit with scratches, a marred front panel, and low power output. Emails back and forth were exchanged as I asked to return it for a refund to no avail. During this period I watched as his ad in QTH changed for the unit that was already sold and in my possession! It was obvious CYA!

I learned from this transaction that not all Hams live by the same moral code that I do.
What a disappointment.

I had two units. You purchased the first one and I had that I provided pictures of the scratches on the from and on the top and also listed it in the add. You emailed me twice advising you were struggling with how to operating the unit and that you were not exactly sure if you were doing it right. You also advised that you were going to have a friend help you figure it out. About a week later you email me saying you don't think it is operating to 100% and that you also want your money back because you saw my add saying it was in mint condition. I sent you back the original add stating it was described exactly as you received it. The one that was now listed was another one I had that was being sold. Once you use the unit and advise you are not exactly sure how to, it is unreasonable for to think ANYONE would take it back as it is not possible to determine what you did to it while you were using it. Sad that you morphed the story to discredit someone. If you are going to tell a story....at least tell the truth and the entire story.
