NT8N has a listing for a AL-1500 with no tube and no transformer. I contacted him when the first ad was al-1500 less tube. Since I have an Eimac 3cpx1500 tube I felt this was a good amp for me. Randy said he thought the transformer was at his job on a shelf. He told me he'd go to work and get it. The next day he emailed me and said someone put the transformer in the trash. So he asked me to make him an offer. I then emailed him and passed on it. I did some research and he suggested that a peter dahl transformer would be 400.00 or so. I then offered him 500.00. He then replied to me and wrote make it 550.00 and we'd have a deal. I replied ok sold. I emailed him and asked how would he l. He replied and wrote that money orders would be fine. I emailed him and wrote I would like it to be shipped fedex ground and I'd pay for it. I offered him 40.00 for shipping. He replied that would be fine. I then went to my bank and bought him a cashiers check for 590.00. I mailed it priority mail. I emailed him and advised him it was on the way. I also advised him I had ordered the transformer for it, and it was on the way to me.
Then today November 22 I get an email from him saying he decided to KEEP IT! I was shocked and upset. Considering I had already ordered the transformer for it, and when I ordered it I was told the return policy was simple if I return it for any reason besides it not working I would be charged a restocking fee!
I emailed Randy several times on November 22 trying to figure out what was wrong, and since I knew he got my cashiers check on Friday November 21 I was very worried. I then get an email back from him in which he says he thought I passed on it and he sold it to someone else!
I then knew what happened someone else offered him more money and he took that offer, even after he knew I had already sent him the money!
So talk about unethical and a scammer! I then emailed him and told him he owes me the restocking fee and return shipping cost!
Not to mention WHERE IS MY 590.00 which I sent him!!!

If you read the emails you will see he knew I was mailing him the check, also he first says he changed his mind about selling it. Then in the next email he comes up with this crazy excuse and finally admits he sold it to someone else.
THIS AMP ACTUALLY BELONGS TO HIS EMPLOYER ITT SCHOOL IN OHIO, AND I DON'T THINK THEY KNOW HE'S SELLING IT!! HE SAYS HE'S THE DEPT CHAIR OF AN ITT-TECH IN OHIO. I think they'd love to know what he's doing with their property!!!

He told me that he had ordered a transformer for the amp before he received the amplifier. Who does this? He has harassed me with email calling me just about everything you can think of, and more. I did receive his check, did not open it, and sent it back to him signature requested. He sent this check without asking anything. We had not made the deal final. He sent it to my QRZ address. The street number is was wrong. I live in the same duplex. good for him and received the check and returned it. I do not deal like this I am a honest person and try to treat people as I would like to be treated.
There have been quite a few people emailing me telling me they have had problems with Joe and to post something here. I don't like to do this but I don't like to be accused of something I did not do either. I have the return post on the check dated,if you would like to see it.
