I RECENTLY PURCHASED A KENWOOD TS430 (AD # 952572) FROM TERRY ONEIL N5XLA. THE AD LED ME TO THE REASONABLE CONCLUSION THAT THIS RADIO WAS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER.
WHEN I RECIEVED THIS RADIO VIA USPS I WAS SHOCKED AT HOW POORLY IT WAS PACKAGED. BUT THERE WAS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE APPARENT.
WHEN I HOOKED THIS RADIO UP, I DISCOVERED THAT THE RADIO WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. WHEN I PUSHED IN THE POWER SWITCH I WAS IMMEDIATELY MET WITH A HIGH-PITCHED WHINE AND THE VFO DIDN'T LIGHT UP. I CHECKED AND RE-CHECKED ALL CONNECTIONS AND SETTINGS TO NO AVAIL.
I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED MR. ONEIL, BY PHONE, AND APPRAISED HIM OF THE SITUATION AND WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS PROBABLY THE POWER SWITCH, WHICH ACCORDING TO THE ENCLOSED INVOICE, HAD BEEN REPAIRED BY CLIF HOLLAND AT AVVID 2 MONTHS EARLIER.
OTHER THAN AN OFFER TO PAY SHIPPING TO AVVID I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REACH MR. ONEIL TO RE-NEGOTIATE OUR TRANSACTION. HE WILL NOT ANSWER MY CALLS OR E-MAILS.
NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM NOT AT ALL SATISFIED WITH THIS TRANSACTION AND FEEL THAT OTHER HAMS SHOULD BE WARNED AGAINST BUYING ANY EQUIPMEN FROM MR ONEIL.
