Hi om, I was faced with the bad pin syndrome on a ts-520 vfo cable. I found that the vfo manual was available as a down load on one of the websites. using the info for the hookup I fixed the bad cable on one of the connectors and found in (antique radio website) that there were available some 9-pin tube socket savers that were used for tube testers. by putting the bad socket into the socket saver and jumpering to the outside of the socket I save the cable. later a ham gave me a new plug that were part of the kenwood car strero line of a few years ago. the parts were from of all places a radio shack dealer. suggest you look for a old time radio shack dealer or use the line from antique radio web site. wa2job (jolly old bob)
