Does anyone have any info on James? I purchased a Retro-75 from him via his ad on QTH.com on March 22, 2011. In response to his email I paid via Paypal. He collected the payment. I subsequently have received no communication from him despite numerous emails. Since he appears to have no history of bad deals, I fear something may have happened to him. He did make two subsequent for sale postings. Can anyone provide info?

Based on his other three sales (all favorable) - your Retro-75 may have fallen through the cracks or your e-mail got flagged as SPAM and he may not be seeing it. I would give him a call. I found the following (all public information):

James T Settles
800 Illinois Ave -27
Jacksonville, IL 62650

Now, I jumped over to SWITCHBOARD and the only match (with phone number) for a James Settles in Jacksonville, IL 6265 was:

James Settles
989 N Church St
Jacksonville, IL 62650
(217) 602-0344

Also, I found that he sells stuff on EBay - so, you might jump over to EBay and send him a message.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes I noticed that he has had only satisfactory transactions reported. For that reason I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt. I have attempted to contact him through ebay as well via his other sale postings on QTH.com. I also found that telephone number but haven't yet tried it. I should give that a try.

I finally connected with James. I think it indeed was one of those situations where things fell through a crack. Stuff happens. I'm again looking forward to receiving the Retro-75. Thanks all.
