K2HU---PAUL LIONARDO--Not a good report at all...

Post by ve2xb »

I can imagine a report card sent home with Frank when he was in kindergarten.

Dear Mr and Mrs LIONARDO:
Your son does not play and socialize well with his peers and he doesn't communicate well either.

I agreed with Frank on an amount for some Kenwood items and said I would send payment and then a few days later (Jan 8th) I sent the amount in a special envelope with a tracking number. I sent him an email with the tracking information.
Three days ago, I asked him in an email if he had received payment and shipped the items? He said that he didn't receive payment yet. I checked the tracking and it said "delivered on 13th Jan." I sent him an email with this information. He said not to worry about it and that it would get sorted out easily. Afterall, his name is on the money order and they have all kinds of high tech gadgets on them now. He kept positive that all would be ok. I called the post office early this morning and relayed the info to Frank in another email saying that I could get a refund after 30 days. I felt badly, so I told him that I would send another MO this week.
After lunch today, I was close to a post office so I bought another MO and sent it Xpresspost with a tracking number saying in an email, "I hope this arrives without any glitches."
I get an email from Frank a little later saying that didn't I know that the items were sold to the next guy in line as he wrote me in the last email?
I checked all my emails in Google/gmail which attaches every email into one conversation and of course, there never was any such email. I pointed this out to him and now he is back- peddling saying that he just assumed that I didn't send the money in the first place (bcuz a lot of guys say they sent the money but don't and change their minds, etc). I told him that I sent the money and he said all would be sorted out not an hour or two earlier.
From Frank to reassure me all's ok:
Yes Mike, thats the right address.I will talk to my mailman again.Nobody can cash it without proper ID so not to worry.I'll keep you posted.
Then after I sent the tracking number and confirmation today:
Mike, i answered your previous emailed and told you the items were sold to the person next in line so as soon as this MO gets here it will be returned to you and if the other one shows up i will also send it 73's
My reply:
Paul,
We had a deal and I expect you to honor it especially after I hurried off another mo.
You never said anything about next person in line. When did you state this?
I will check all my emails thoroughly.
Nothing, nada, zip.
Pse send me a copy of that email where you mention next in line gets it bcuz I never recv'd that and I am beginning to have a bad feeling...
Paul,
I am counting on those items for my rig on next trip.
I said payment sent and I did send it. If you had a problem, you should have told me so. You never said boo so I assumed you rcv'd the MO. I am very honest and this hurts me and upsets me that you would automatically assume that I didn't send payment.
I spent 14 bux just on the special envelope. Now that 28 bux and out of pocket another 150.
Kindly send the items and no hard feelings.
Is that ok?
73, dx
Paul,
You never told me you would sell to anyone else. That is a fairy tale you made up. That is fundamentally dishonest. Otherwise, show me the email to defend it.
From Frank: Mike, i'm not saying i told you.. i made that mistake i should have emailed you the minute i couldnt track the MO and i apologize for that but it aint no fairy tale and it aint dishonest i did not take your money end of the story 73's

I'm fed up and angry at this point:
Paul,
Send me the email where you state you are moving on to the next guy in line. That is the test of the truth of the matter.

Yes, you should have communicated much better. I really wanted those items for my trip and now I am just really ticked off at you for being insensitive and uncaring. You also show lack of empathy and a kind of automatic paranoia. What did I ever do to you? You even said we dealt before and had no problems. I am very confused and annoyed with you. I hope that this turns out ok and you return all funds plus 28 bux extra for the special envelopes.

Let's see if he returns all funds as promised and I will never do any deals with him again. My .02 worth. Beware of this guy and others who really don't communicate well. I will email several times from now on and make sure there are no glitches. Afterall, USPS makes mistakes all the time. Can't we trust each other as hams usually do?

No we can't. I learned in another thread that a man's word means nothing anymore and believing that it does is a sign of ignorance. I don't want to go political, but I am convinced that liars have become so well accepted that it is just accepted. I'm not there yet, but....

I just don't understand why you would send another MO. The tracking information detailed that the first envelope was received.

K2HU has good FB until now...Wonder what happened?

Epilogue...

Post by ve2xb »

Paul, K2HU and I have both apologized to each other for the bruised words we exchanged. He sent the money back plus a little extra that I spent on the special envelopes. We both agreed that mistakes were made by both of us and next time, things will be handled differently.

All's well that ends well.
