WB3M A+ Technician

Post by kp4bpr »

Last year, I got in trade a Henry 2k-3. Physical, not bad, just a little clean up and that’s it. But the working condition was really bad. Just one tube working and no carrier. I took the decision too fix the amp and I start to look for a technician. I knew that at fifteen minutes from my house, very close to Springfield, West Springfield and East Longmeadow town, there is a technician. I don’t want to say his name, but a long time ago he did something really nasty with my radio. I was looking for months for some one to fix the amplifier, and one day I just listed in 80 meter the call sign WB3M. I found in qrz.com that this man is a technician (cupele' s electronics) and I called him. The only problem, I live in Springfield MA and he lives in Harrisburg PA. Seven hours to go and seven to return. Before the trip, I looked for information about his work, and all the information that I found was positive.

Seven hour trip to fix an amplifier, that is love for this hobby. Well, because I have two-month vacation (summer) I did the first trip to Mr.Cupele’s house in June. I left my amplifier with him and from that point everything was communication. He makes calls, he sends emails to let me know about the process with the amplifier.

He works very professional, quick, and the price rate is really affordable. One day he called me and told me that the amplifier was ready and wanted to test the amp in the air. He used it for a three day test.

The day that I did the second trip to PA (long way), he used the amplifier in front of me. Just AWESOME, 50 watts= 1200 and 1400 watts. We test the amp for more than two hours. 80 watts, over 2kw. He did a fantastic job, but the best was the communication that he keeps with his customers during the process. Even he call me three weeks later to see if any problem with the amp. Two weeks later he called me again to tell me that he was looking for me in 20 meter to listen my station with the amplifier. Hey, this gentleman is a professional that I recommend with out a doubt. All his advice is PRICELESS. If I have to travel again to Cupele’s shop, with out doubt, I will do it.

Ps; The ribs at the grill … with potato salad … wow … was amazing! Can you imagine? You have to travel back home for seven hour and some one invites you to eat some ribs at the grill? Was great!!!!!!
Thanks Miguel!
