160/ 80/40 Fan Dipole from Chris Fox

Post by russcwv »

Go to http://www.ni4l.com/ and see my new antenna, well Chris Fox is offering to sell you one just like mine or any other custom arrangement of fan dipoles. Mine arrived in about a week and I was very impressed by the stout construction, the type of wire used, the end and center terminations and even the packaging. Mine is a 160/80/40 meter fan which I just installed and am still playing with the end point mounting. When I ordered it, Chris asked if it would be installed flat or as an inverted vee. I only have single 80 ft support and a bunch of trees but I was impressed that he asked because it makes a difference in dimensions between flat and vee. I got it up just before a wind storm hit so the tie off points aren't really ideal but it seems to be working as well as I would expect given that I haven't been able to spread the end points out to the maximum dimensions I have available. It talks and it hears better than what I had up before which wasn't much but I am satisfied that as a long time builder of wire antennas with mixed results , I will be happy with this one. Thanks Chris!!!javascript:emoticon(':D')
