AJ4MT CECIL ROBERTS SCAM

Re: AJ4MT CECIL ROBERTS SCAM
Your first clue should have been the price. Only $250 for a TS-430S ???steinhouser wrote:One (1) Month ago I sent Cecil Roberts AJ4MT, $250.00 for a Kenwood TS430Swhich said would be shipped same day of rec. funds. He received and cashed a postal MO 3 days latter... NO RADIO AND NO REfund of the $250.00 next step is small claims court. NEVER DEAL WITH THIS SCAMMER. Larry N3MXF

I always follow the rule if it's to good to be true run from it. I recall a few months back on E Bay a person was offering for sale a new in the box FT 950 for $750.00 shipped and i contacted the person and there answer was flaky and spelling was horrible. Of course i passed it up and later learned it was a scam.

I have to disagree; I have bought several radios that were listed on eBay in that were unbelievable:
Yaesu FT-847, matching FC-20 Tuner and MD-100 microphone, brand new never used. Father passed away, quick sale of items. $550 using "buy it now".
I questioned this myself and decided to go for it. Well, he even paid shipping! Radio was brand spanking new and I sold it to a friend of mine and he is still using it.
I had a guy call me last year with a Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark V Field loaded with filters, the digital recorder and a VL-1000 Quadra amplifier. He wanted $2500 for it all. He called me from an add that I had placed on QTH looking for an amplifier. He wanted to buy a motorcycle. I jumped on it. I still use the Quadra and recently sold the FT-1000 Field (on www.qth.com)
Also NEVER say "no trades" when listing an item. I swapped many items I had listed for sale for items WAY more in value.
