DEAL WITH N4NCJ BY WN8BOB

Post by WN8BOB »

I have previously posted positive feedback on this deal, but thought better after stewing for awhile,I bought a Icom 207H dual bander from him and it was advertized as "LIKE NEW" when it got here it STUNK to high heaven of cigarette smoke, when the cooling fan runs it gets even worse,my whole shack now smells like cigarette smoke, when someone describes something as " LIKE NEW" I take it that means without the horrendous cigarette smell,no way could I resell it like this,in the future, please advise those you are dealing with to describe items EXACTLY like they are to prevent further problems, maybe I guess I should take up smoking!!! Research the person before doing transaction

Sorry you got smoked on that deal. I'm not on a personal crusade against N4NCJ. I just call em the way I see em and please read my feedback on him.
When you read negative reports on someone its best to reconsider dealing with that person. If they don't have any feedback at all maybe you can find someone who know him. I learned my lesson in that if I see one sensible negative feedback against someone I leave them alone. Sure, sometimes some people just can't be happy with any trade or purchase and write BS about other person but you can usually see through that. I've been pretty lucky here and the other ham sites with my sales and purchases and hope it continues. I got really concerned a couple of times but the fellows finally came through on their end of the deal except for N4NCJ and that could have ended alot worse than it did. While I'm on the soapbox I'd like to thank Scott and the other moderators for having the patience to put up with us. I know I wouldn't. You might cut some apples up and put them in a box with the smoked up Icom207. Let it sit a few days and it should help. I was able to even get out cat urine odor with apples. It has always worked good for me.73, es Merry Christmas

The problem I see here is that you assumed the rig was from a non-smoking shack and didn't ask. Assumptions have a way of coming back to bite you in the rear-end. Most ads you see from non-smokers say so, if they don't then ask the seller.

Morally and ethically, it is the SELLER'S RESPONSIBI:ITY to be sure that the buyer is completely informed.

SORRY, HE DIDN'T ASK, DOESN'T CUT IT!
