Well I finaly heard from w7wgb
He called and left a message on my answering service and told me that the apache had been shipped and then proceded to try to shake me down for another fifty dollars for shipping. wall said that it took more than he thought for packingand his shipper.,that it had to be crated!
Wally also said that he was a vet and if I did not pay him the fifty dollars more he would tell the hams and vfw how bad i was! in his area!
Isent WALLY THE MONEY ON THE I/12/2011 FOR THE AMOUNT OF ?600.DOLLARS FOR HIS RADIOS AND EXTRAS,iALSO SENT HIM AND EXTRA ?2OO. DOLLARS FOR SPECIAL SHIPPING,THAT IS WHAT HE WANTED , TH AD #881767 ON QTH.
i RECIVED THE APACHE on 3/7/2011, the radio was and is damaged bad,He packed it alright ,a wrap of small bubble wrap around the radio wth foam on top then in a boxand that box was put in side of a nother boxwith small foam aroud it ( so much for crating!) he also said that it would be insured,yes it was for a 100.dollars. Idid not accept it untill I found out the amount of insurance so I called fed ex and had them re deliver.(I figured wally would get radio back and the $100.dollars and I will be out again.
Wally never sent Mike spare parts,transformersand dial faces in which I paid for and his add spec.
I showed this to our vets and they seemed to think tha wally was a %%% well better not say.
So if want to be fustrated ,angry,This is the guy that can do that for you
OH yea the tubes ,fuse ,front panel,case,and mode switch all broken.
I am going to forgive wally because I belive he will have alot of explaining later on an maybe this will give him a break.
