John…………

In place of keeping with a paragraph, I’ll just make a list.

1. Avery poor packing job. Surprised it got here in as good shape as it did
2. No paper’s on the filter’s/NB/linear board as advertised.
3. Took me 15 minutes just to get it to turn on.
4. No mic hanger. The model 700 mic had one that was attached to the
back of the mic.
5. The bottom cover has 2 screws missing.
6. A repair done on the mic connector!?
7. Way more scratches than advertised.
8. No diagram/instruction’s on which phono jack belonged to the amp
key circuit or modified for external speaker.
9. Receiver has a very loud “pop”.
10. Dial WAY out of adjustment.
11. Has a slight drift problem.
12. Where is the add-on swr protection?
13. TX does not track with RX. Probably SSB generator off freq.
14. Needs general alignment.
15. And while I’m making a list, a poor copy of the manual.
16. PTO is not very smooth. I will bet that the grease is almost dried up.

While I did not expect a perfect rig, NIB, I did expect a lot better than I received. I PAID for a lot more than I received. I may get away with sending it to TT for a couple months, but it WILL have to go for a general alignment. That will be at least a hundred dollars, minimum. Before I send it down, I will have to re-build the PTO. Are you going to do anything to make this right? I feel that you should refund a hundred dollars to help with the cost of a trip to TT.

This equipment was not fully as advertised and I will place a copy of this letter on QTH and QRZ. And will definitely tell folks I know that, in my opinion, they should not deal with you. There is no reason for you to have sold me this rig in the shape it is in without telling me about it. Plus, you live in Palm Harbor so you are not in the league of the poor. So much for trusting what you are told.

I still bid you 73
