We will only deal with the facts here.I entered into a deal with Mr.Chaney to trade my IC-7700 for some of his Collins equiptment and $1500 cash.We agreed to cover our own shipping expenses.I took the 7700 off line and packed it in the original shipping carton and shipped it via FedEx.Mr. Chaney reported to me that he would have to wait to ship the Collins equiptment for two days as he required to optain shipping materials and pack the items. No problem. Two days later I did received a check for $1500 dollars. The next Tuesday I was informed by Mr.Chaney that the top and bottom covers were damaged in shipment.I ordered and had shipped to him two new covers. Then I received and e-mail saying there was no output from the 7700.Mr.Chaney informed me that he was putting the shipment of the Collins equiptment on hold.I told hime I would pay for the repairs provided they were done by Icom.He then e-mailed me and said he did not want the radio. He had already but the hold on his shipment(it was already here in South Carolina). He wanted to send the 7700 back to me cod for his $1500 and cost incured by him.I agreed to the the cod for the $1500 and cost to send the 7700 back to me.He said he wanted his total cost back for shipping the Collins equiptment both ways, packaging material and also his time for packing and distance to the shipping center. At this point I did not want to be held up so I made up my mind that this was a futal attempt to resolve.Life is to short,I will take the loss and have learned a lesson in dealing with long distance trading. The only thing I would ask of Mr.Chaney is that with the profit he makes is that he take a small part of it and donate to the DAV(Disabled American Veterns).Thank you for your time.

Sounds like a real clown to me.

Give me a break..the guys wants to make money and all of this BS over some issues that you dealt with quickly and more then fair.

Pay for your own time buddy and pack this !

What about your time and effort packing that 7700 ??

You were taking advantage of and I give you credit for doing what he wanted as I would have handled this differently and told him to pound sand.

Every time I hear stories like this, it makes me very afraid to sell equipment online.

Just to clarify

I want to make it clear that I did not agree to pay Mr.Chaney his expenses. So basically he has a IC-7700 that cost him $1500.I see that he is now looking for repair advise on the 7700 group mailing list.By the way the IC-7700 left here in perfect working order.Full output on all bands. But I understand that things could happen so that is why I agreed to pay for the repairs. Thanks
