Cecil is back at it again, this time he is posting ads for tubes under the call KJ4SZC, issued to April P. Jackson, at his address, 1979 K St., Alexander City, Al. 35010.

I responded to an ad listing a 4-400 tube by KJ4SZC, and the answer was from Cecil Roberts, with instructions to send the payment to April, at the address above, which is listed in QRZ.

I received a response that the USPS MO was received and I assume cashed, and the tube was to have been shipped. No tube and no further response to e-mails.

I let you draw your own conclusions.

CAVEAT EMPTOR!

I don't want to be overly critical and certainly sympathize with you.

However, with all there is here on "Cecil Roberts" why would you proceed knowing he was involved?

I certainly was not aware of any info in regards to Cecil Roberts. The tubes were listed under another call, KJ4SZC, issued to April Jackson.

I checked this forum for any feedback on April or her callsign, and came up empty. It was not until I received replies to my e-mails that I even was aware of a Cecil Roberts. Even then, I had no reason to wonder, as I was instructed to send payment to April.

After further e-mails acknowledgeing receipt of the money order and stating the tube would be shipped, then no response to inquiries , I began to get curious. I ran Cecil through QRZ, and lo and behold, he and April happen to have the same address. Running his call through the forum turned up a bit of bad news...

I intend to pursue this through the USPS, Postal Inspector General, but thought I would advise any other hams who might bite on the same ads. BTW, they are still listed on this website, under tubes. Put in the call: KJ4SZC and see what pops up.

Now you know the rest of the story.

Still no tube or refund. The matter has been placed with the USPS for action.
