I almost bought, well tried to buy the same radio from that ad. Trouble was I live near enough to pick up in person. I sent several emails got one seemingly disinterested response. He said it was OK to pick up but never passed along the requested contact info needed in order to arrange pick up. At that point I figured there was too much negative energy in that area and backed away.

For the price you paid even including repairs you probably did ok in spite of the guy. I paid a LOT more for a Cyclone that looked like crap and had numerous issues.

I know that isn't the point, just trying to help you feel a bit better.

Thanks for your kind words. Yeah when I talked to him on the phone he seemed a little flakey and I should have trusted my instincts as you did.
Anyway still no power supply delivered and officially giving up.
Just hope this post saves someone else from getting ripped off.
I just bought a SR-160 and power supply for $160 that all works yesterday
from a local. Hooked its PS up to the SR-150 I got from !@#$%^ and of course
nada. After replacing some tubes and cleaning the ant relay got it RX real nice.
Totally dead on TX, not picking up any kind of signal on seperate receiver.
Well this will keep me busy, see how much more $ I dump into this project.
But at least this SR-150 is in super cosmetic shape so probably worth it.

Noticed WD8RYH, Dave is still updating and posting new listings including the
power supply I already paid him for (Hallicrafters P-150) and he still hasn't delivered. Doesn't answer my e-mails anymore either.
AGAIN PLEASE WATCH OUT!
I don't want anyone else getting ripped off.

So he has now made whole my purchase from him.
