Beware KD8BLU

I recently responded to a for sale listing posted by KD8BLU for an Icom IC-706. The ad stated that the radio was an 8 out of 10, one owner and 100% with the exception that it would occassionally scan on its own, but if it was switched off and on it was fine. I asked the seller several questions, and he assured me that it was fine with that one exception, so I bought it. I paid with a Postal M/O. When the radio arrived, it was not as advertised. It was maybe a 3 cosmetically and a 0 electrically. It would not transmit, receive and scanned at all times with no way of stopping it, was missing several case screws and had a broken mic plug. I emailed the seller with my concerns, and he stated" The ad clearly said it had problems!" That was the last I heard. I sent the radio to MTS for diagnosis and was told that the radio clearly had suffered water damage, and the main board was corroded and beyond repair. I will have to have it fixed if we can even find a replacement board. I just want others to avoid the same type of problems with KD8BLU. I guess honesty from a seller might be too much to ask.
So, if you do business with KD8BLU, please be careful.
