Afer several emails telling me how much he wanted my AL-800H and that he sent a check, no check ever arrived. A waste of time! As a consequence the amp I wanted to buy became unavailable and was purchased by another buyer. Way to go Marty! If Marty responds to your ad keep other options open as he is not a man of his word.

Martin and I have been friends and doing business for 5 years. He is honest and a good guy. I would send equipment to Martin on his word and know that the check is on the way. I will continue to do business with Martin and I stand by him. If you are concerned about him, look at my feedback and know that I would trust him with my family, my money and anything that I own.
That's my story and I am sticking to it! Paul w8jn

It could have been lost as it's the Post Office that handles millions of pieces of mail almost daily.

Paul I am glad he isnt like this to everyone. He emailed me saying he was mailing me a check. It never arrived and I emailed him 3 times and he never responded to any of them. Only after I told him I was going to post this feedback did he finally email me back. He just never mailed it and then chose to ignore me.

a bit harsh

hiram,
martin didnt steal your money. he also didnt ship you a trashed out piece of junk that had been listed as "mint". have you ever talked to a salesman, told him you wanted that new car and didnt return to buy it? ever call a ham radio dealer, ask a million questions, tell him you would "call him back" and just vanished? are you without sin in this situation? "deadbeat buyer" ? a little harsh???

OK Paul. Point well taken. I just wish Marty would have been as responsive as you are. I was more upset then than I am now and would like to delete this post but I don't know how. Well I will consider this matter closed and move on. Thanks

I have done 100's of transactions on qth..both selling and buying. I have yet to have a bad critic. I told him that I had to wait for the bank check to clear before I could send him his money. I did responn to his email. My bank requres 2-3 days for a bank draft. I did let him know about how my bank functions. I am willing to put this problem to bed, as the way he described this issue, I am the bad guy. To re-itterate, I did notify him. There is somewhat of a risk when you have a transaction when you don't notify the seller. I have been burnt several times, but just continued on and found another buyer. 73's

Maybe next time you will have cash-in-hand before committing to another purchase?? You stood up your seller, too!!

WX1F that is a good reply however I spoke to the seller (by phone) and I told him right from the start that I was waiting for a check. Then I spoke to him on 2 other occasions. Once while I was still waiting for the check and once to tell him It didnt seem like I was getting it. It was at that time he told me another buyer was interested so I told him to sell it. I didn't stand him up. I kept him informed at all times. He didn't miss anything.

You lucked out with your seller finding another buyer...or we would be seeing deadbeat feedback for you on here, too. My point is....wait until you have cash in hand before telling someone you'll buy their stuff. I've been stood up by many. Some even make it a game. You may have encountered one! Good luck on your quest...

WX1F you are correct. It happens all the time. I have had more luck selling on ebay but their fees are ridiculous now. However I never had someone not pay.
