Be Real Careful of the Buyer

For the better part of my 55 years of being an active ham and the hundreds of pieces of equipment I've have sold or traded, I never have been stiffed by a Ham. I look up a Buyer in the Callsign Lookup and see if he exists. I know enough about call signs and regions to see something bogus. Recently I got hit with a phishing trip by Tim Crawford. When I dismissed that Buyer, I got another with a ham call. He called my Heath collection "stuff." Payment was delayed by the "hospital stay" y'all warned me about. The call is not in the callsign data base. Last the bogus callsign was a W6F--. W6F callsigns were not reissued. My Elmer was W6FHN and he passed 25 years ago. I got a real education reading this forum. Thanks to everyone. And I will continue to give deference to real, licensed Hams. Tim Crawford need not apply. Hope these comments help someone else.
