Wait a second. You won the bid on EBay and he tried to raise the price after the bid closed? And you went through with it? If that's what happened, shame on you.
I believe the word that fits here is extortion.
If a bid goes through and then the seller changes the 'contract' (it does use that word when you have to click OK on your bid), then he is BREAKING the contract. You are no longer obligated to do anything. Report the matter to EBay and then go look for something else.
Thank you for telling us to watch out for this guy as he is capable of being deceptive.

Not much info here on who to watch out for on eBay. What is the sellers eBay ID??
I searched for W7MM and Mike Morgan, but had no luck.

This forum is for use regarding QTH.com classified feedback.
Why is an "eBay deal" being posted here?

W1JCW - john, thanks for bringing that to my attention. i bet you this is the radio doug sipple sold me - he stripped it down to stock - removed the digital unit and all filters and then sold it too me not working. i would not be suprised if he damaged something pulling this rig apart - this nightmare gets clearer and clearer everyday.

KI4ucw that is not how you claimed the radio was when you recieved it as i've been following your claim against Mr.Sipple.You claimed the radio had a dent in it with no transmit and intermitten recieve nothing like your claiming here now.....

larry what are you talking about?? yes the radio was received with no transmit, a dent and intermittant receive - i never claimed otherwise.
what am i claiming here??? i'm not the one who started this thread - Doug sipple is - are you reading correctly??

Look i'm not calling you a liar or anything like that but no where on the complaint you started with Sipple no where did you say he removed the digital board or removed filters and stripped it down to stock. Please correct me if i'm wrong as i went back and reread your complaints to be sure of my previous statement as i'm not above or to proud to admit i'm wrong. I'm only a outsider giving my thoughts on what i've read with out i hope taking sides.

larry, why would you even consider calling me a liar??? i never lied!
i am saying that might of happened, as did another ham in the discussion. you need to read all of the entries in the thread.
sipple started this thread back in march - it looks as if he purchased a 950sd from a w7mm on ebay. the radio he purchased had a didgital board, filters etc. - the radio i purchased from doug was a plain 950 (950sd - the digital board). sipple is a reseller, it is highly probable he stripped the 950sd, sold off the parts and sold me a plain ts-950. i don't have a problem with that and i never said i did -
i'm only wondering if the radio he purchased from w7mm on ebay is the one he sold me - that's all - the fact remains that he sold me a non-working rig and refuses to refund my money.

Looki i never thought of calling you a liar as that is how your reply comes back to me like you seemed to think i thought you were. Some how in this you've managed to turn this back on me and seeming to say things i never said. I'll end this with you as i can understand your being upset and all with the Radio transaction and my point was it appeared by the way you responded to John like you were now adding to your claim about the radio's condition. But as they warn you in saying things on this feed back site to be careful what byou say about another as it could end up in a defamation law suit. So by stating what you suspected maybe that is how you should have said you suspect he might have done that but that is originally not how you came across but like it was done. Good luck and i hope you get it all worked out.

larry you really need to read all of the comments posted before you comment -
it was john W1JCW who asked doug sipple if that was the same damaged radio you sent to ki4ucw. i only commented on john's response to sipple and thanked him for bringing this topic to my attention - i wasn't aware that doug sipple posted this topic regarding his bad ebay purchase from another ham. kind of ironic isn't it! a
nyway i am done with this whole thing - 1000 bucks in the scheme of things is really a drop in the bucket - life's too short - i'm outta here - buyer beware is all i have to say. good luck to all.
later, ki4ucw.

nope - i don't have alot of money, but the only thing you can do is be philosophical - either that or it drives you crazy - not worth it.
