Jeff Beryhill-KE5BPQ advertised a BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED (NEW IN BOX) Yeasu Mark V. It was in fact NOT NEW IN BOX , with dirty finger prints, and it had blown finals. Pressing the on switch on the front panel of the radio, caused the power supply LED to dim, indicating a heavy current drain. It is costing me over $900 to repair the radio & have new finals installed. Hopefully, it will be operational in the near future.

Just curious , who is charging you $900 to fix it? I have fixed them in far worst shape for less than 1/3 of that cost. You may want to shop around,

WOW!!! Now I wonder who is the bad guy,the seller or the one who is charging him $900 for repair the radio.WOW!!! The worst case I remember I was involved in a MK5 was few years ago I sent one to a guy in Nevada and the UPS carrier let it drop breaking in pieces the front panel display and several knobs,Yaesu replaced the whole front panel for a brand new one and also realigned the whole radio for just $400.But man $900 WOW!!!What happened to that MK5? did it fall from an airplane at 10 thousand feet or what?
