QTH.COM Swap Chat

I purchased a Nye Viking Power Meter from WZ1M "Gary", he told me he was selling for a xyl of a SK friend. I asked if the meters were in good shape he told me yes he had seen them work good and rated them over all as a 9 .

I checked out Gary's call WZ1M and see he runs a business of selling tubes, radio part, ect. He is listed on the web under [email protected]

After checking out Gary's web page I thought it was safe to do business with him.

I received the meters for the aggreed price, BUT the the remote RF sensor for the meter was missing, with out this the meters DON'T work.

I contacted Gary he told me he did not know there was a missing part but would check it out. (the silent key xyl lives several hours away)

I waited to hear something, I e-mail Gary again, and asked where is the remote sensor, I need it to use the meters.

He had not found it yet and asked how much it would cost to buy a replacement part. I told Gary I was not interested in buying/finding spare parts.

I requested my money back plus shipping. WZ1M told me I could not make demands for my money, that if "I read the add, it said meters" and now he implies it never said the sensor included.

I would not recommend doing any business with WZ1M after what has happened to me.

I am including all my e-mails that correspond to my attemp to get what I paid for.

OH why I am now writng about this WZ1M no longer has responded to any e-mails, I guess I am just out of $260.00 and my tough luck, don't let it be yours:

And WZ1M says he does not run a business ???? Don't figure ?

I have found someone that has the remote for the meters, it will cost $56.00
to buy it. Should I go ahead and buy it and will you cover the cost of the
remote sensor and send me $56 , or should I wait for you to go to your
friends house to see if you can find the miossing part ?

I have written to Gary about this, to try to resolve this situation.

1) It was none of my damn business.
and
2) That the buyer should contact the SK's widow directly to ask for a refund.

Not good.

Pat, he says he e-mailed you several times last week but did not get a response. He also says that if you could get another one that the widow would be happy to pay for it.

Scott this probably none of my business but i have to think your being very humble as Gary more or less told you too butt out but now seems to be wanting to solve this problem and i'm certain with out your getting involved this might not have happened. Kudos scott and to me it's good to see the administrater of his site stay involved.

Scott, I appreciate your help, I received a refund check for the $56.00 I had been looking to get for resolution. I now have all the parts to operate the Nye Viking Meter. I did finally end up getting what I paid for. Thanks Again Scott.
