I purchased an Icom 746 in January from Ray N5IZ.
His original QTH listing is below.
The radio arrived with the tuner not working on any band when checked into a dummy load.
George at Houston Amateur repaired the tuner for $125.
The FL-232 filter was not in the radio.
The FL-223 filter was bad...receive goes away when selected.
I also checked the FL-223 in another radio.
Rays response has been he didn't advertise it with the FL-232 filter and the tuner was working.
Also Cal at Ham Repair had worked on it for other problems and he wanted me to call Cal about the tuner.
Cal said the tuner was working fine there when he made other repairs to the radio.
Maybe Ray didn't know about these problems?
He doesn't respond to emails now.
