My name is Christine Bartlett. My call sign is WA8SOF, formerly N8NDF.

Back in 1997 my Mother sent my deceased Father's first receiver that he ever built to me. It was a National NC-188. I found Leo J Gac, listed below, on the internet doing business as Vancouver Electronics,in the state of Washington. We corresponded and came to an agreement to have it sent to him, with a $100.00 deposit, from Owosso Michigan to be repaired for $294.00.

For reasons unknown to me to this day, he fell off the face of the earth after a few conversations and the radio that I treasured enough to have brought back to life was lost. I tried many avenues to locate Mr. Gac to no avail and came to the conclusion that possibly he passed away and maybe he left his wife with no idea what to do with all the radios in his shack. This is exactly what happened to my Mother with my Father's radios when he passed.

It appears that his Amateur License was again granted in 2004. Can you help me locate Mr. Gac to inquire about this? I realize it's a shot in the dark, especially after all this time, but only just recently did someone find this information. I had given up all hopes of seeing my Father's radio again. I don't care if it is not repaired or the money; I would just like to have it returned.

Sincerely,
Christine Bartlett

Hello, as you probably read feedback on AB7ON. You probably saw my feedback. I bought off of ebay from him. He eventually sent the item after a bunch of emails. He did sell dual band jpole antennas in pvc pipe on ebay. If he still is it should not be difficult to find him. I wish I could help more but I sent him a money order a couple of years ago. You might get a person in the Vancouver area to check him out...Good Luck, Alan Wilson
