KA2SIW - beware of this seller - Item was misrepresented

Purchased an HF6V antenna from KA2SIW. The ad was as follows:

Excellent condition vertical antenna, only 5 years old. Like new. sold by AES for $389,HRO-$349, Get it here for $200.00 OBO

The antenna was misrepresented, it is not close to looking new, the aluminum actually looks about as old as the tubing on my yagi (17 years old). After the antenna was shipped, but before I received it I was told it was missing the matching stub and that I need to make my own. After complaining to the seller he purchased a replacement stub and shipped it to me. When I attempted assembly I found the antenna was missing screws and nuts, and the 15m copperweld wire was damaged and cut short. The seller's reply to my complaint was to go online and buy parts to fix it.

I must say I had better luck in buying items from e-bay than from classified ads.

DO NOT buy from KA2SIW or ebay TONGORE159. AC6DD was right!

I purchased a coil from a seller on e-Bay who happens to be Fredrick Mockler KA2SIW. He shipped the coil alright, but it was packed with one piece of Styrofoam and a few small wadded up plastic bags from a local store and the coil was ruined by the time it got to Iowa. I wrote the seller back and he resorted to name calling and told me it was sold "AS IS". As is doesn't mean that you pack poorly and then not work with the buyer. He said I should have bought insurance on a $10 coil, but insurance will not protect you from an improperly packed item. I only got taken for $17 from KA2SIW and I am just trying to help other hams stay away from Fred Mockler KA2SIW.

Want example e-mails and proof? I kept his e-mails back to me. Ask me for a copy and I will gladly send you some examples. If you get on e-Bay as I do from time to time, you need to stay clear of seller tongore159.

Sincerely,
