Stan Elkins KK4SI Talks the Talk and Walks the Walk

Every now an then I meet a ham who takes the spirit of helping other hams to heart.
For several days, I posted an ad looking for a crystal filter to replace one taken out of a Heathkit receiver by its previous owner. For days no response. I was about to give up on the quest when I received an email from Stan Elkins KK4SI telling me he was sending me the filter I needed.
We communicated the shipping details and Stan changed his mind. He decided to send the whole chassis of the receiver he had so I would have other parts in the future. Then he added another working receiver, an SB-300, to the list of things he was sending.
He shipped both receivers at his expense and when I offered to pay for shipping he asked, instead, that I make a donation to QTH.com to help keep this site up and running. This has been done.
