I bought a $85.00 MC-60a mic. from Bob, it arrived today, when I inspected it, I found it to be barely a grade 8 with scratches rub marks, in 6 places on the mic. When I emailed Bob with my complaint which I was very careful not to attack Bob personally, but just dissagreed with his use of the term "mint" to describe the condition of the mic. his answer was and I quote: "All I can say is that it looked mint to me,just return it for a refund, and I would suggest that you buy a brand new one,I don't think ANY used mic is going to meet your standards, ship it back...BOB WN8BOB" Now, I am not looking for a fight here, but saying that he don't think that ANY used mic is going to meet my standards is a pretty RUDE statement, and in my estimation undeserved. Either it's mint or it isn't mint. Rather than ship it back, and lose money on shipping, I am going to re-sell it with a accurate description of the mic. and hope to break even. This is my expierence, yours hopefully will be better. For the record here is Bob's post:

I told this ham, very plainly,to send the microphone back for a full refund,I estimated it would probably be about $8-$10 to do so,he forgot to mention the fact that I shipped the microphone priority mail, insured,at my expense, and I even shipped the item BEFORE I received any funds, there are always 2 sides to any story,I examined the mic carefully, nowhere did I see any 6 scrathches,he also told me a MC-60 mic, like the one I sent, would be worth only $50,I have personally never seen a MC-60 mic,in ANY condition for $50 shipped,he left out much in his response here,it seems he thought $8 was to much to return it for a full refund, noww he wants to sell it FOR LESS than he bought it for??? Does not make sense,I sold it for roughly HALF the price of a new one,and it sure looked nice to me,a grading of 8 on a 10 scale is ridiculous!! I told him if he wanted a brand new in the box MC-60 he should have stated thats what he was looking for!! All he had to do was pay about $8 to get his money back,HE REFUSED!! How many ads have you read, can return,LESS SHIPPING!! enough said...WN8BOB

since he told me it was only worth $50,and he said he would now have to resell it,keep an eye on his ads and see if he offers the MC-60 desk mic for $50 shipped, there are people in this hobby who you are never going to satisfy, there are those that would buy a $500,000 house, used, with NO warranty, andd then complain about a ham stores "Restocking Fee" IF $8 amounted to something like bankruptcy, what is he doing on these for sale boards,I did all I could whithin reason,it has been some time now since the deal was completed, thanks for all the positive input I have received in e mails...WN8BOB BOB
