I bought a Tokyo HL-450b amplifier listed by Mason a month or so ago. Communications were good. Packaged very well for the trip out to me.
Upon plugging in the amplifier and trying it out the transmitted output was good. However, the amp would keep going into protection mode.
I was only driving it with 40-50 watts drive which is with the specifications from the manufacturer. When I inquired with Mason he said the shipper might've damaged the amplifier. I shook the amp a bit and heard nothing loose. I inquired and he said he could start a claim with shipper. Then he said the shipper may not do anything if the box was packaged properly. ??
Although the ad stated everything was working fine with the amp. it was to be sold as-is. Mason said he would accept the amp back and if he saw nothing was amiss he would return me $100 a month until I get my full amount of $750. That to me sounded absurd. I guess I bought a lemon.

I did some further testing after my last communication with Mason and noticed the amplifier would go to protection mode when the dc voltage was above 13.2v dc. If I had the voltage under 13vdc the amp would not go to protection mode. Output is 250-300 watts output but would not trip the protection circuit. I don't think the amp was damaged in shipping. It was packed well.
Now I have to find someone to repair this fine amp.
