What is a TS2000 Really Worth?

Searching for a good TS2000 but I don’t think I want to spend $2000 for one. Prices are astronomical. It’s a great radio but some are 25 years old. I know they are worth whatever I will actually pay, but should I just go buy a new 991a?

Unless you were going to do dedicated satellite work, then I would definitely go with the 991A. That's really the only difference between the 2 radios, other than the 991A is a little newer. 73

I had the same dilemma and ended up going for a gently used 991A. It’s not quite the shack-in-a-box powerhouse the TS2000 was in its day, but it holds up really well for most use cases.
