K6LK being used by scammers

Post by K7NT »

I saw an ad for a IC-7610 on Facebook last night. The price was very good. I engaged. Before I transferred funds I asked to talk with the person. They called me from 984-983-7145, which I looked up. It is a known scammer number that has been associated with other callsigns for fraudulent activity.

The number is associated with Mebane, NC.

When I talked with the scammer, they sounded very strange, with a thick accent. They played some emotional games with me about their health.

It's a scam for sure.

Looks like he's TRYING to look legit by posting some ads here on QTH.com.

I too was just contacted by him on a want I listed on QRZ.com.

Same guy.

Pictures were from 2019 of an Icom IC-765
