I purchased a Heath SA-2060 Tuner from Steve WZ1U from the following AD in QTH.com:

I have for sale a Heathkit SA-2060 in excellent condition with the manual and working...I have plenty of pictures if needed. I will take $350 plus shipping using FedEx or a pick up....WZ1U Steve / Lakeville, Ma
I received the unit on December22, 2022 after paying the $350 plus the $38 shipping. The seller had told me previously that it was sitting on his shelf, not used for 20 years. But after I called with problem report (see below) he told me YESTERDAY for the first time, that he hadn't checked it out.
1) I found that the three binding posts for Wire antennas were all loose. The seller had told me he had replaced the gaskets. When I called him up on 12/22/2022 and I told him that I had to tighten all of the hardware up and he said, "I guess I didn't tighten them up enough when I replaced the gaskets."
2) The sensitivity potentiometer was not turning - it was frozen. It is a Centralab 250Kohm pot. I called him up for a second time on 12/22/2022, and told him same. On his suggestion, I squirted some WD40 into the shaft of the pot and it eventually loosened up.
3) When using the unit on all bands on 12/22/2022 at night, I found that the unit to be extremely sensitive to match and once matched it quickly lost match, requiring immediate readjustment. I have not and will not further troubleshoot the unit. Most probably there are more components/indicutor roller contacts and roller coil, switch contacts, etc. which have to be cleaned with electronic spray cleaner/alcohol.
I called the seller on 12/23/2022 AM and informed him of my additional findings and he said that once I opened the unit it was mine and that he wouldn't take it back. Outrageous!! I fixed the binding posts for him and got the potentiometer working and he is not standing behind the unit in any way. This seller was not completely honest. He put for sale a unit which he did not check out and was selling as fully operational. Instead of reacting as he did, it would have been much better to ask me how we can make this a satisfactory sale.
