W9BIG - Bad experience

I purchased an Alinco DR-635T from Michael. Before purchasing the radio I asked him several questions. Specifically I asked him to verify the power output on both bands. He claimed to have tested the radio and that it showed 32 watts out on high power on 440 and 46 watts out on 2 meters. My tests into a 50 Watt dummy load revealed only 19.5 watts on high power on 440 and 35 watts on 2 meters. Since his ad did not mention the that the radio came with a power cord, I asked him if it had the factory pigtail. He stated that he did not have the power cord, but the radio had the pigtail on it. When the radio arrived, it did in fact have the pigtail, but he neglected to mention that it had been cut and spliced. Not a deal breaker, but he deftly avoided mentioning this when I did specifically ask him about the power cord. Michael claimed to have been the original owner but did not mention that the radio had been modified for out of band transmission. Again, not a deal breaker, since I did not specifically ask if there had been any mods done. What did break the deal is that the microphone shipped with the radio is not the one shown in the photo (which I had printed out off of QTH). The microphone supplied has a burned/melted cord, and is frayed in several locations, including where it plugs into the radio, which was shown in the photo. The microphone supplied had a button hangar, the microphone shown in the photo has the standard Alinco hook hangar. I e-mailed Michael and said I felt he had misrepresented the radio to me and that I felt at the very least he should should send me the correct microphone that was shown in the photo. A bit later I sent Michael another e-mail saying I would prefer to return the radio for a full refund. After sending three e-mails to Michael regarding the situation he finally responded with an e-mail stating in its entirety "I do not believe you. You trying to scam me. I dealt with people like you before." Michael did not answer or address any of my concerns. The above quote was his total response to me to date.
I sent Michael my phone number and asked him to call and discuss. I asked Michael to tell me what I had stated in my e-mails to him that was false. I asked him how he would like to resolve this issue before I contact Paypal. No e-mail replies and no phone calls from Michael, but now I see that he did have enough time to post that I am a parts swapper. I have all the e-mails saved and photos. Feel free to call me at 608-924-1447. I have nothing to hide but I do have my good reputation to preserve. Thank you. Karl Heil, WD9BGA
