This is to inform anyone having to deal with K9KEV on any transaction that I found Kevin to be exceptional at taking care of the sale. He went way above and beyond the call of duty to help me with the sale of my FT5000MP to Marvin (KB9UXX). I had Kevin come over to verify that the radio I was selling worked 100% and had no defects or scratches on it. Once I demonstrated the radio, he helped me put the radio in the original box it came in when I bought it new. Kevin saw that there was no internal support for the radio so he spent the better part of an hour repackaging it with material I had on hand. He was meticulous in this effort. Once he was satisfied of the packing, we placed it in his SUV cargo area. I was very impressed that he was willing to take me down to the bank to cash the cashiers check to conclude the sale. On the way there, I remember a car that was waiting to get into traffic, and Kevin was kind enough to wave him in to our lane.
When Kevin got the radio to his Place, and before he took it to FedEx for shipping, Kevin repackaged the entire radio, with all the accessories I included with the sale. He spent several hours doing this - making sure that there was no possibility the radio could get damaged during shipment. He even drove down to Dallas to have a company place metal rapping around the box to secure it tightly. He then drove it to FedEx and filled out all the paperwork to have it delivered the next day to Marvin in Chicago.
He followed up on the delivery and made sure Marvin was 100% satisfied the radio came to him undamaged, and was operating as advertised.
I was blown away by Kevins attention to detail, helping in the boxing, and transporting the radio to FedEx, then following up on the delivery and its operation in Marvins ham shack.
Marvin put the radio thru its paces, and we scheduled a contact in the following week. It was strange for me to make contact with another ham that bought my wonderful FT5000MP and hear it on the air.
I sold the radio because I no longer needed such a powerful radio for my DX work..
In closing, any dealing you have with Kevin (K9KEV) will be, I am quite sure, exemplary.
