I had been searching for an FTdx3000 for a short while and ran across Al's listing here on QTH. Over the years, I have only made two purchases of this magnitude on the ham classified web sites. Al was extremely helpful, patiently answering all my questions, and, of course, he has several positive postings here. As such, I was quite comfortable purchasing from him, feeling like I was dealing with a neighbor.

Al packaged the radio, triple boxed, like it was going to around the world. And, it arrived unscathed. The radio works beautifully and was as he represented.

Also, as an example of extreme coincidence; once the radio arrived and I had it set up, I was listening around on 20 meters looking for a strong station for a short QSO and a report on the audio. I heard a Florida station, 20+ over, and, low and behold, it was Al - W1JHU! We had a nice visit and, of course, good audio report (for a hand mic). My first totally random contact, on a radio purchased from Al, ... was Al! What are the odds?!!

Anyway, I strongly believe Al can be trusted. Ask all the questions you need. He will do his best to answer them. And, you can be confident in that you are getting what he describes.
