I was recently on vacation when I saw a ad on qth.com for a Ten tec 425 amplifier that Fred advertised. I called Fred up on a Thursday and told him I was on vacation in TN. and would be back at my home qth on Sunday and would he please hold the amp for me until I could get to my paypal acct and pay him for the amp. Fred was nothing but a stand up ham and said it was ok and he would wait until Sunday for payment..Sunday arrives, I get into the home qth and realize I forgot to transfer more funds into my acct.I again call Fred and tell him my problem and ask if it would be ok to send a partial payment tonight and the rest in a day ..Fred again said no problem..

I just cant say enough about Fred except this is the way we did things when I first became a ham op 40 years ago, a hand shake or a mans word was worth everything
