KN6QB - Caution

KN6QB, James Jones, published an ad offering two Penta 572B tubes. I checked his callsign in QRZ.com and all information seemed to be ok.

I replied the ad asking specifically if the tubes were made in the US or in China, and what amplifier were they for. The Product Reviews of Chinese made tubes in eHam.net are a scary, that's why I wanted to make sure of their origin.
The reply I obtained was "US tubes for SB-200".

I sent the payment via PayPal and the tubes were shipped to a friend's address due to the fact that I don't live in the US. I got the tubes six months later, brought personally by my friend. They were perfectly wrapped and looked like new. After opening the boxes, guess what I found: the tubes were marked: "Made in China"! I tried them in my SB-201 and one of them arced! Fortunately my amp is protected against this sort of situations.

I sent an email to KN6QB explaining him what happened and asking him for a 50% refund. All I got was a reply treating me as "scammer". Even after sending him pictures of the tubes marked "Made in China" he came back insisting that "Penta is made in Chatsworth Cal".

This person did not tell me the truth when he said the tubes were of US manufacture. Besides this, he accused me of being a scammer...
I trust my fellow Hams... and I was deceived by this person.

Keep in mind... You don't have to go through this same experience with KN6QB.
