Do not buy from W6FQ (Curt Kundred)

I purchased an ICOM ID-880H from W6FQ, Curt Kundred of Danville, CA. The item arrived cosmetically undamaged. Due to my work schedule and having the flu for a week, I was somewhat delayed in getting the radio installed in my car.

After completing the installation, it was noted that the rig would not power up with the control head situated remotely. Since my car is space-limited up front, remote-mounting is a must.
The radio did power up with the controller mounted directly to the main radio chassis, indicating a possible bad separation cable. A new cable did prove to remedy the power up problem (which he did reimburse me for) , but now the radio, from all indications, will not generated sub-audible tones for repeater access.

I have asked Mr. Kundred for a refund, but his initial statement indicates he will not take the radio back. So at the moment, he has $290.00 of my money and I have a defective radio.
Please be aware that he (allegedly) has another ICOM ID-880H for sale as of today (2/11/15) on eham.net.

Consequently, it might be a good idea to avoid any transactions with W6FQ.
