WV8G - DANA

I should have posted this earlier. As usual, I'm running behind. A few weeks ago I purchased an older HF transceiver from Dana. He had to re - list it because the previous "buyer" had the roof blown off his home and thus was unable to pay.(!) I called Dana and said "Hey, don't worry. My roof is secure and I'll send you out a bank check tomorrow via Priority Mail. No problems here!" Well, not so fast.. Next morning I wake up and you could hang meat in the house! No power in the cul de sac. Brief light flickering in the house and then BOOM! One of the distribution transformers explodes right on the corner of my front yard. All the cabling is underground so they have these things spaced out evenly throughout the neighborhood.
An hour later, three giant crane trucks from Entergy show up and block the street. They finally replace several transformers during the day and I am unable to get to the bank. I email Dana and he's very understanding about the delay but I know what he's thinking. This all happened on a Friday. The following Monday I go to the bank and Overnight him the check. It takes TWO days to get there! At this point I'm thinking if he sends me a bag of parts I'll hang my head, mumble a thank you and quietly shuffle off.
But NO! The radio arrived well packed, everything worked and the condition was as described. Dana was a gentleman and he was good for his word. Add him to the Good Guy list!
