Just what it says -- this is the place for any discussions not related to Buying, Selling and Trading ham gear. The discussion must be related to Ham Radio.

Siltronix 10110D and 1011 C

Post by WB8JBG »

I have recently aquired a Siltronix 1011D and a1011C. Both will transmit but neither will receive, I get the rushing noise but no signal. I placed my other rig next to the rigs and transmitted and it barly moved the needle on the Siltronix. Any help would be appreaciated, or information on were I might send them to be fixed. TNX.

not much info there. I believe siltronix was the pre cursor to SWAN radios.
But they may have made CBs too.
Not many would know what you are talking about by model number.

I worked on a few of these and they come straight 10 m not for use on
cb.
It only takes 1 pf capacitor to transform them into a powered not legal
for cb power house.
The fact that they drift so easily deters many cbrs from aquiring them.
I would have someone familiar check em out, when right they are a lot
of enjoyment.
Good luck
