IC-756 works fine but blows fuse when radio is grounded??

Post by W4AJF »

Hi, I have a very strange situation: I have an IC-756 that works fine but when you ground the radio through either the coax or the ground lug, the negative lead fuse blows immedaitely. If I use a dipole the radio is perfect. When I hook it up to an antenna that is grounded , the fuse blows when the PL-259 is screwed on. This happens with any grounded antenna. Also, if I use the dipole and ground the radio (using the ground lug) to a ground in my house (ground part of outlet for example), the negative lead fuse blows (with a spark!). Any help please??

Thanks,
