I just completed a transaction with WX3SVR. The radio was fine, but the way he does things leave much to be desired.
He gladfully sent me photos promptly, and communicated fine. The problems started once I paid him.
Instead of telling me ahead of payment that he was going to be away (he is a politician and had to go to DC), he emailed this after I paid. He then told me it would be the beginning of next week. I was patient, but annoyed. I decided to attempt to cancel the transaction, but he wouldn't budge. He said "his company offers no refunds" and "i told you I would be away." He never disclosed he had a company in the ad. If he was too busy to ship, why not just give me a refund and be a stand-up ham? He should have mentioned he would be away BEFORE I paid...NOT after.
I asked again for a tracking #, yet heard nothing except "you'll get it Thursday." That was the week following payment.
What is so hard about emailing a tracking # and shipping things promptly? If I knew this information before the sale, I very well may have passed and moved on. Guys realize that once they have your money, they can drag their feet, hold the funds hostage, thinking there's nothing that can be done about it. Well, something CAN be done. It's called a chargeback. Next time this happens, that is what I will do.
Why he didn't just do what is right is beyond me.
The radio did arrive and it was as advertised. But this type of drama is unnecessary and unbecoming of a ham operator.
