New radio advice

Post by KO4VON »

I'm looking for a new mobile rig and I'm having trouble making up my mind. I'm currently torn between a sweet deal on an Icom ID-4100 and an Alinco 735t. My only drawback is that I run Linux for my OS and therfor slightly limited to Chirp for programming as apposed to rt systems or any proprietary cps. I'm still unsure if chirp supports the 735t but it's one hell of a deal. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Download chirp. Open the software and tell it to connect to any radio. Once you do that, you will get a drop down menu and you can see what radios the software addresses. You DO NOT have to have a radio attached to the computer to do this. If your radio is listed, you are good to go. If not? Well, than you know the answer.
