For reports of scammers using other people's callsigns. Remember that any callsigns listed in this forum are likely innocent bystanders (subjects of identity theft) and, thus, are probably not guilty of anything. For bad transactions with verified ham operators, use the Feedback Forum instead.

K1FG Scammer

K1FB responded to my WTB ad with the item I wanted, asking $100.
I looked up his callsign, checked the map and all seemed fine.
He insisted I use PayPal family and friends. I should have known better at this point.
I sent the $100 to his email address. FrankK1FGradio@gmail.com.... Seemed ligit.
He replied that I should have sent it to jacobvictory@gmail.com
I got a refund from Paypal and resent funds to jacobvictory.
Paypal charged me $4.99. This turned out to be a fee for overseas payment. At this point I realized I was being scammed.
Now he won't respond to email..
Paypal will not refund funds for friends and family in this case.
I'm screwed.

Lesson Learned . . . It is said over and over . . . DO NOT send money via Friends and Family if you don't know the person. If you funded it with a CC you can dispute and get money back that way.
